Asimina Chasandra of Antonios was born in Atalanti Lokridos in 1972. She is CEO & Co- Founder of the online poetry magazine www.poetryaxion.gr. She studied at the Department of Nursing B’ at (ATEI Athens) and received her degree in 1998. She worked as an executive from (2000–2006) in many large Athenian nursing complexes (in intensive care unit, surgery, nursing department, outpatient clinics). She was appointed through ASEP at NIMTS and started working from 2006 permanent. Due to incompatibility, she ceased her publishing activity with the magazine of poetry Δέλεαρ/Delear (2000-2006) which she published by printing 9 issues, including three tributes (Andreas Embirikos, Auguste Corteau, Yiannis Antiochou) and an issue of unpublished poems (Gerontion) by Nikos Dimou. Her literary production was appreciated as a statement of post-modernist poetic writing and thought by Giorgis Giatromanolakis. She first appeared in Greek letters with the anthology 16 Young Greek Poets for about the 90s generation from the Kefallinias theater “Praxis” at Poetic Tuesdays in 1997. She has been translated into English and French. She collaborated with the newspaper Eleftherotypia (is closed now) and its inset Library presenting Greek and Anglo-Saxon contemporary poetry as its director the poet and publisher George Chronas. She edited the tribute of the poet Andreas Empeirikos with the permission of his son Leonidas with many unpublished photos and texts of his colleagues in the magazine Odos Panos (ex. 164, 2014). In 2006, her magazine Δέλεαρ/Delear with its most important contributors was presented at World Poetry Day at the Hellenic Center in London, as well as the text of the publisher “Manifesto of love or how one becomes a poet” was announced. In 2009 she worked in London at a private hospital in the central London, Harley street 142-146 (The London Clinic) in the neurosurgical team and in 2014 at a hospital southeast of London in the chain (Ramsay Health Care) in Main Theatres. She collaborated with French musician Claire Renard on her project “the music of memory” in the visual arts space Fournos in 2001. In 2015, she withdrew from the Greek bookstores all her works that had been published until then with the aim of being corrected and revised in a more recent edition but are in order at greek bookshops all now. She completed MSc Le Cnam at college Rene Descartes as Manager Health Sector (2017-2019). She has also been involved with poetry therapy. Also, the first issue she printed with her own editorship was for the Monogramme of Odysseus Elytis in 1997 (1000 copies out of commerce). This text was published again with the permission of the author (dedicated for Ioulita) in the tribute of Odysseus Elytis in the magazine Odos Panos (ex. 137, 2007). The aesthetics of the magazine Δέλεαρ/Delear as a whole were presented with the text of its editor in the seventh issue of the magazine Να ένα μήλο/Na ena Milo, in January 2006 (with director Laurie Keza, Patakis publications). An article also for researchers is found in the Dictionary of Modern Greek Literature of both the poet Asimina Chasandra and the magazine Δέλεαρ/Delear from Patakis Publications. Her texts were published in magazines: Anatolikos, Eptakyklos, Byblos, Moody, Lifo, Futura etc. Finally, a letter of hers was published in the journal Νέα Εστία/Nea Hestia (ex. 1880, March 2019). She became a member of the Greek Diaspora of New York United States of America, The Helenic Executive Committee (CEO Poetry E- Magazine) in 2021. Since 1992 she lives permanently in Athens. She works as Registered Nurse for adults TE [member of ENE] grade A’ in NIMTS and has become a member of the Poetry Society UK. She is single.
